OnePlus was generous enough to offer Oreo update to the users of OnePlus 5 around Christmas but it did not end up as expected. The update was pulled later due to a bug that would cause issues with third-party camera applications. A few days ago, OnePlus announced that it’s already working on OxygenOS 5.0.1, which is supposed to contain fixes for the bugs mentioned earlier.
On 6th Jan, OnePlus started rolling out another update dubbed Oxygen OS 5.0.1 which fixed the previous bugs as well as fixed network issues for European operators. Since it’ an incremental roll-out, it will take a few weeks to reach all OnePlus 5 devices.
One thing worth mentioning is that the devices which have their bootloaders unlocked will fail while trying to update. They are advised to backup their data and then re-lock the bootloader in order to update the device.
